Discover a different side of Hertfordshire as we combine a relaxing two-hour scenic cruise with a visit to Van Hage Garden Centre at Great Amwell, where a freshly prepared cream tea awaits.
With picturesque waterways, local history, beautiful countryside, shopping and a traditional cream tea all included, this is a wonderfully leisurely day out – and a chance to enjoy some hidden gems surprisingly close to home.
Discover Hidden Hertfordshire from the Water
Our day begins as we board for our approximately two-hour cruise through Ware and the beautiful Lee Valley.
Once aboard, simply find your seat, settle back and watch the scenery gently pass by.
One of the most distinctive sights along the route is Ware’s historic riverside gazebos. Built along the banks and projecting out over the water, these unusual structures are a fascinating feature of the town’s riverside landscape.
Our cruise continues through the contrasting surroundings of Ware town centre, giving you a completely different perspective of this historic Hertfordshire town from the water.
We then leave the more urban scenery behind as our journey takes us into the attractive landscapes of the Lee Valley and Amwell Nature Reserve.
Keep an eye out for wildlife along the way or simply relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings as we cruise through this beautiful part of Hertfordshire.
Cream Tea at Van Hage
After our cruise, we'll continue to Van Hage Garden Centre at Great Amwell, one of the region’s best-known garden and lifestyle
destinations.
On arrival, we'll head to the Garden Café, where a freshly prepared cream tea will be waiting for us, served with your choice of tea or coffee.
It's the perfect way to round off our relaxing cruise – but the day isn't over yet!
You'll then have free time to explore Van Hage at your own pace.
Much more than a traditional garden centre, Van Hage offers a huge selection of inspiration for the garden and home, giving you plenty of opportunity to browse, shop or pick up a treat to take home.
You can also discover the miniature railway, adding another interesting feature to your visit.
Combining picturesque waterways with a relaxing cream tea and leisurely shopping, our Hidden Hertfordshire experience is a delightful day out without having to travel far from home.

What time will I be picked up?
Your exact pick-up time will be confirmed approximately two weeks before departure along with your pick-up point details. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early so the coach can depart on time.
How does seat allocation work?
All seating allocations are subject to availability at the time of booking.
While we do our best to accommodate seating preferences, seat allocations may occasionally need to be adjusted for operational reasons.
For single-seat bookings, seating arrangements may also be altered to help maximise overall seating availability. In the unlikely event of a seat change, we regret that no liability can be accepted.
What is your cancellation policy?
- No refunds are available for cancellations made within 14 days of departure.
- Cancellations made more than 14 days before departure may be refunded or transferred to
another available trip.
- Event or show tickets may be non-refundable or non-transferable depending on organiser terms.
Is the tour suitable for children?

Can I bring luggage?
Please limit luggage to one medium-sized suitcase per person plusa small bag for items you want onboard with you. Bigger or
additional bags may not be allowed due to limited luggage space.
