Join Richard Taylor Travel for a wonderfully different day out combining a visit to Jeremy Clarkson’s The Farmer’s Dog in the Oxfordshire countryside with an afternoon at leisure in the historic city of Oxford.
Our first stop is The Farmer’s Dog, near Burford – a destination created by Jeremy Clarkson with one very clear purpose: to celebrate and support British farming.
Fans of Clarkson’s Farm may already recognise the story behind The Farmer’s Dog, but you certainly don’t need to be a fan of the
programme to enjoy our visit!
The Farmer’s Dog
Enjoy time to explore the site, soak up the atmosphere and discover a celebration of great British farming, food and produce.
Take a look inside the Grand Tour Tent, where you’ll find the Diddly Squat Farm Shop alongside Hops & Chops, combining a butcher’s shop and bottle shop.
There’s plenty of opportunity to pick up something to take home, whether it’s produce, merchandise or a reminder of your visit.
Depending on the timings of our visit, you may also wish to purchase something to eat or drink from one of the outdoor food outlets, which can include The Farmer’s Puppy, The Farmer’s Dough and The Farmer’s Grill.
Please note that a meal or table reservation inside The Farmer’s Dog pub is not included unless specifically stated in your booking.
After enjoying our visit, we'll rejoin the coach and continue into one of Britain's most famous cities.
Oxford at Leisure
The rest of the day is yours to enjoy in Oxford – the City of Dreaming Spires.
Famous throughout the world for its university, magnificent architecture and centuries of history, Oxford is a wonderful city to explore at your own pace.
Wander through historic streets and admire landmarks including the Radcliffe Camera, Bodleian Library, Bridge of Sighs and Sheldonian Theatre, or simply soak up the atmosphere around the university quarter.
Shopping enthusiasts can browse the independent traders of the historic Oxford Covered Market, explore the city-centre shops or visit Westgate Oxford, home to a fantastic selection of high-street names, restaurants and cafés.
Alternatively, spend your afternoon discovering one of Oxford's museums, enjoy a leisurely lunch or afternoon tea, or simply find a
cosy café and watch the world go by.
Combining a taste of the Oxfordshire countryside with the history, shopping and attractions of Oxford, this is a varied day out with something a little different around every corner.
