The Throckmortons have lived at Coughton since 1409, giving the house a remarkable sense of continuity. Generations of the family have witnessed some of the most turbulent periods of British history, and Coughton’s story is particularly intertwined with the history of the Catholic faith in England. Today, the house contains an intriguing collection of Catholic treasures alongside historic rooms and family collections.

Rather than simply wandering through the grounds, the tour provides a more rewarding insight into the work and thought behind the gardens and offers the chance to appreciate details that can easily be missed when exploring independently.
Following the tour, enjoy time at your own pace to revisit your favourite areas, explore the house and soak up the peaceful surroundings.
When it is time for a break, Coughton Court’s renovated Stableyard Café offers breakfast, lunch and afternoon refreshments, with an emphasis on locally sourced, high-quality produce. There is also a shop where you can browse a selection of gifts and products.
