Held on Lowestoft’s South Beach around the summer solstice, this unique multi-arts festival celebrates Lowestoft’s position as Britain’s most easterly town and its special connection with the first light of the day.
The festival transforms the seafront with an eclectic programme of live music, arts, dance, comedy, spoken word, workshops, activities, food and family entertainment.
Different areas of the festival offer something new to discover. You might catch live music at the Sunlight Stage, discover emerging performers, watch dance performances, explore creative installations, browse stalls and the Makers Market, sample street food or simply soak up the lively festival atmosphere beside the sea.
There are also dedicated family, wellbeing, arts, science and activity areas, making First Light much more than simply a music festival.
Best of all, the main daytime festival is free and unticketed, allowing you to wander between the different areas and enjoy as much or as little of the programme as you wish.
