The castle has been associated with Edward IV, Richard III, Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, Lady Jane Grey and Charles I, but perhaps its most famous resident was Katherine Parr, the sixth and final wife of Henry VIII.
Katherine lived at Sudeley following Henry VIII's death and is buried in St Mary's Church, within the castle grounds. Remarkably, she is the only English queen to be buried on private land, making Sudeley an especially fascinating destination for anyone interested in Tudor history.
During your visit, explore Sudeley's historic exhibition rooms and Castle Rooms, where an impressive collection of paintings, textiles, furniture and historic treasures helps tell the story of the people who have called Sudeley home. Among the highlights is the Allegory of the Tudor Succession, an important Tudor painting depicting Henry VIII and his children.
